Weekly Nature

A Weekend in June

Im originally from New England, and I just moved to New Hampshire from central Florida this past week. In between all the unpacking and getting back into the swing of things that is usually associated with moving, I have been getting outdoors a lot more. It is just so calming to get out and see nature.

I just got my very own fishing rod and my boyfriend, Michael, and I have been hiking and fishing for the past week. We found this very relaxing spot down the hill near a local baseball park; just hidden away enough. I jumped from rock to rock in this little stream to get to a larger rock in the middle of the water. While sitting on the rock in the middle of the stream (prior to slipping into the stream trying to get back to shore) it seemed as though nothing could touch me and it was easy to just let go of everything even if it was just for a moment. It was just overall a very calming experience.

Earlier on in the week, we went hiking and fishing at a local state park that we used to frequent prior to moving to Florida. Pawtuckaway (the park) is such an awesome place to just relax, hike, bike, fish, sightsee, etc. On the way into the trail next to the water we even encountered an eastern painted turtle.

We also stopped on the side of the road at the stream shown below to see if there were any fish, and to just relax and listen to the stream. We did not catch any fish this week, but it was just nice to get out into nature, relax, and let go. Sometimes all we really need to do is let go and not worry about the outside world for a little bit!
